More on the Importance of Primary Perception

In my last blog, I wrote about Cleve Backster's research over the last fifty years of something called, "Primary Perception." Primary Perception being the term he decided upon to describe a way of knowing/connection that exists between all forms of life: plants, animals, embryos, and microscopic forms of life, as well as an individual's cellular life.

His research shows conclusively that this Perception is instantaneous, and is not affected by distance, as far as he has been able to determine. (From out in space, has not been established, for example.) His most recent ongoing research has had to do with human cells, as well as blood, separated from the donor, and attached to equipment which records what the donor is doing and experiencing that is of a nature that creates a form of stress or heightened experiencing. Such experiences include such everyday things as watching TV, or talking with someone on the telephone.

As has been publicized, stress is a major factor in illness. The more we subject ourselves, or are subjected to, stressful experiences, the harder it is for our bodies to remain healthy. This also applies to negative feelings regarding ourselves and others.

Due to our current social and family environments and forms of "entertainment," in this country, most people are immersed in a negative soup of emotions, almost constantly. Also, considering the number of people who grow up, or have experienced growing up, in dysfunctional families, only a minority of the population can be considered to have experienced a positive growth environment. A recent newspaper article reports that approximately 35 million people in this country use prescribed Antidepressants.

The number of people who live with pain, and/or extreme disability, on a daily basis has not been determined, to my knowledge. The use of illegal drugs to dull the senses is rampant in this country.

Another recent newspaper report concerned the growing problem of people who use prescription pain killers, such as OxyContin, (Oxycondon). ("Oxycondon" is the name of an opium derivative similar to codeine but more powerful.) The report states that older individuals who have gotten prescriptions for this pain medication, instead of taking it to relieve their own pain, are getting multiple prescriptions filled monthly, (at a cost of approximately $1,000.00 each to Medicare) and are re-selling them to drug dealers, who can sell the powdered pills for approximately seven times the amount!

All of the above evidence establishes how much trouble we are in, as a society. This added to Cleve Backster's evidence that our emotions and experiences, particularly of a negative nature, are slamming every single one of our billions of cells, like body blows, almost constantly.

If you want to have a healthy body, you must find a way to ameliorate the amount of negativity you are feeling/experiencing. In past blogs, and this one, I have written about common forms of this input--being in negative relationships, watching television, watching videos, playing violent video games, reading anything that contains negative emotions played out, feeling negative emotions, such as: anger, jealousy, fear, hatred, judgmental thoughts.

Ways of creating positive inner states include, spending time alone, walking, exercising, journaling, occupying oneself with a hobby, craft, reading educational or positive literature, meditating, listening to quiet music, thinking about what you experience in your life and how that came about.

Unfortunately, many do not currently have any amount of time to do these things, because of their total engagement with their day-to-day lives. If you are one of these people, and you want your life to change for the better, you must find or make the time somehow.

There are many kinds of CD's/tapes available, which you can use to clear your mind, and bring about specific mental states. Some of these will actually change your brain waves while you listen, helping greatly to achieve positive results.

I'm afraid this has been a "downer" of a blog, but it is the current reality for many people.
