In today's blog, I want to continue on with allowing one's mind/boxes to be blown. Most of us do our very best to hold onto the delusion that what we have been Programmed and Indoctrinated to believe is actually, "reality"--that the world is understandable and can be expected to remain constant.
As examples: we cling to our beliefs in the integrity of the American Medical Association (AMA), American Dental Association (ADA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Big Pharma--that they are looking out for our individual health, and not protection of their various cash cows, to everyone's detriment.
We hold onto our Programmed religions beliefs of a long-established Religious Belief System, a newer breakaway Religion, or another, adopted, Spiritual Belief System, to give us a sense that the, "unknown" future is knowable and predictable by those who, we are convinced, actually know. We do not want to be told that those, who supposedly, "know" are even more Programmed in those beliefs than those they preach to. That those, "authorities" are actually members of a hierarchy whose job is keep their, "flocks" from straying out of their control/influence and source of income.
Many have substituted, for an early Programmed Belief in religious teachings, an Indoctrinated Belief in the religion of Science. In these days, suggesting that Science is a Religion is tantamount to, "waving a red flag in front of a bull." If one spends time researching the foundations of the various Sciences, however, it will be found that most of those foundations are stuck in older, unproven theories.
As I have written before, all "hard" Sciences, (the natural or physical sciences) have as their basic foundation block that nature and the world/universe are only physical.
The "soft" Sciences, (those that interpret human society, behavior, institutions, etc.) have as basic foundational blocks: a belief in something they call, "normal" human behavior; a belief in human rationality, and that by experimentation something can be learned about potential human behavior. Also, in line with the, "hard" Sciences, that humans are only physical.
The other Sciences, such as Anthropology, Archaeology, Geography, Medicine, etc., are, sort-of, in limbo between those two classifications; nonetheless, each has it's own fundamental-to-the-science body of Beliefs, as do the "hard" and "soft" Sciences, which do not allow for alternative theories or explanations to be introduced without the pillorying of that threat to the integrity of their Belief System.
The problem is that we cling to these various Belief Systems, because they give us a feeling that they contain Facts that can be clung to in order to have a sense that reality is knowable. Specifically, in the case of our personal health, that someone in authority knows the answers and can fix our problems.
In particular, we want to believe that the medical professionals actually know what they are doing and can keep us alive and well. In conjunction with this faith, many are unwilling to take any responsibility for their own well being.
For example, we do not want to conceive of the possibility that those charities, which ask for our donations to fund research to, "find the answers" to Cancer, are in actuality using those monies doing useless research just to keep themselves employed. There are known causes and a number of cures for Cancer, which have gone unacknowledged and/or debunked by those organizations.
The cause of most ills currently besetting people, including Cancer, which began increasing after WWII, has to do with our, supposedly, advanced medical and dental practices, as well as our modern diets and lifestyles.
Our physical health, or lack, is the result of what the body takes in. The modern diet is deficient, because of modern Agra-Business farming and food processor practices, as well as chemicals and other changes which have been introduced into our food supply. Chemically produced food substitutes are poisons! Many have made changes in their diets, which are believed to be beneficial, for example, the substitution of soy products for dairy and protein, but have only created and/or added to their health problems.
The health problems experienced because of the ingestion of drugs, all drugs--over-the-counter drugs; legal, Big-Pharma drugs; various legal drugs, (cigarettes and other tobacco products, alcohol, etc.), and, of course, illegal drugs, are all major destroyers of the physical body's ability to heal itself.
Another major factor is stress. Much stress is the result of fear, in its many forms. Fear, is a form of control; as long as you are afraid--feeling powerless--you are easier to control. The mind is not functioning when you are afraid. Fear creates adrenalin. Adrenalin is an habituating drug, which is supplied by our various forms of violent, "entertainment," danger-filled and extreme sports, as well as uncertainty about our future security.
An interesting thing about stress is that, when under stress, the body becomes acid, when the body is acid, rather than alkaline, it becomes vulnerable to all forms of disease-causing agents.
With those blasts, I end today's blog.
