It has been a full month since I last wrote; I have been trying to decide, in light of not having any feedback, whether to continue on. I have decided that, if nothing else, writing it is good for me, in that it reminds me of these basic principles which I have been expounding upon, therefore, I will continue on.
In my last blog, I wrote about the journey of a thousand miles beginning with taking the first step. I have been on this journey, of my life, for a long time, periodically changing directions. When I have done this, I have called it, metaphorically, "jumping off a cliff." So, sometimes, it requires taking courage in hand and doing something that seems to others, more-or-less, irrational.
I have made such changes, however, after considering all the options. I could have just, "kept on, keeping on," but this is, in my opinion, being stuck--not growing. For those stuck in situations in which they feel they have no options, it is essential to understand that life is a long string of choices. We can choose to do nothing, or we can choose to do something differently.
I started out just as Programmed and Indoctrinated as everyone else, however, because of having become "educated," (more Indoctrinated) I chose a path of belief causing me to adopt a rational, intellectual, scientific framework for those beliefs. Only by having those beliefs seriously challenged by evidence of a, previously unconsidered, non-physical reality underlying physical reality, that I began to rethink everything I believed. In actuality, this was also a metaphorical "jump off a cliff."
When we do something differently, simply by changing how we think, or writing about what we believe, (or, even, beginning to think about what we believe) and how we came to believe those things, we have made a major change in ourselves.
Most individuals in our world, wherever they live, have been operating on auto-pilot all their lives. They are, in effect, sleepwalking. More and more people are beginning to, "wake up," at least somewhat. Loosing a job, one's home, or being abandoned by someone you trusted, are major, "wake-up" calls. To, "wake-up" even a little bit, is to become more conscious.
Our whole Programming and Indoctrination has had this goal in mind--to keep us asleep. Questioning everything--even anything--is usually met with an attitude of, "What are you, a trouble-maker"? or "How dare you question what I say"?
When you start to question what you believe, you stir up memories of those who Programmed you to believe whatever it is you have started to question. The bonus for you, in doing this exercise, is that you become increasingly conscious.
In a previous blog, I think I mentioned the book, The Lies My Teacher Told Me. Our recent National Holiday, called "Thanksgiving," is only one of those group of lies. In the past, it has only been the American Indian peoples who have dared to challenge the entire basis of this Holiday.
Our Indoctrination regarding this Holiday started with participating in our family's annual celebration of feasting and seeing relatives we rarely see. Then, when we went off to school, during this time of year, our teachers had us create images of the story of this time in American History.
For those who have researched our real History, it has become clear that this land we call, "The Americas" was known to exist, before Christopher Columbus "discovered it." The Pilgrims were actually the beginning of an invasion of an inhabited world. The story about the Camel putting its head into a tent is apropos here.
If you wish to become conscious, you need to consider the possibility that everything you have been told about "History"--World, Ancient, and Current--(what you believe) is false, (Dare I say to you, "A deliberate lie"?).
In the same manner, what we believe about our Physical World, and its History, as well as our personal histories, has only a passing resemblance to what actually was and currently is, which we have been Programmed and Indoctrinated to believe.
So, with this new beginning, I end this blog.
